Windows: Remove Security Warning Message from Downloaded Files

So you know what you are doing and have Antivirus installed, are not downloading crap and hate useless security warnings nobody cares about?

Well, no there is no easy way. Windows marks the Files with "Zone"-Information.

For every single file in the “Properties-Menu” one must select Unblock.

Advanced Users:

To prevent the Zone Information to be added to future Downloads – Open gpedit.msc (Run as Admin)

Navigate to “User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Attachment Manager”

Enable “Do not preserve Zone information in file attachments”

GPEdit

In CMD execute “gpupdate /force” or restart Computer.

Windows: Add Support for Camera Raw Files

Microsoft Released the “Microsoft Camera Codec Pack” which adds support for many different types of RAW Files. The package allows to preview RAW-Files in the explorer.

Strangely Canon, Nikon etc. are supported but Adobe DNG is not supported. A Plugin can be downloaded directly from Adobe.

Inserting Text into Master Placeholder Textframe in Indesign

  1. Create a Master Page with a normal Text-frame.
  2. Apply the Master to a page
  3. Select the page
  4. To insert new Text you first have to select the Frame by pressing Shift+Ctrl
  5. Now you can Edit the contents of the Text-frame.

Note: If you want to use the place-command (Ctrl-D) first select the frame then, Ctrl-D and select the text-file you want to insert.

After the item from the Master Frame has been changed, it cannot be influenced by the Master Page it is a Page item.
